“75 Art” Challenge with Genna Blackburn 2025
Beginning the Daily Drawing Challenge

Last night, I officially signed up for the 75 Art Challenge with Genna Blackburn! This past week, I joined her free “Draw with Genna” live sessions and absolutely loved the slow, thoughtful pace and her encouraging teaching style. It inspired me to take the plunge and commit to her 75 Art Challenge—a journey I’m excited to share with you here on my blog.
The challenge is simple yet ambitious: draw every single day for 75 days straight—just over two and a half months! It officially kicks off next Wednesday, January 22, and while I’m thrilled to get started, I’ll admit I’m a little nervous about sticking with it.
I’ll be using this blog post as a way to stay accountable and keep you updated on my progress. Check back regularly for my daily sketches, weekly reflections, and everything in between as I take on this creative adventure!
75 Art with Genna Challenge: Week 1
The Week 1 prompts are all about objects! For this week, I've chosen to create digital illustrations, transforming each object prompt into a motivational drawing paired with an inspiring tagline.
Day 1 (January 22, 2025): Umbrella
I began working on this prompt while helping my son with a main lesson drawing for his homeschool session. After we wrapped up for the day, we stayed at the table, drawing whatever inspired us. Using jumbo Crayola crayons, I sketched this adorable little piggy in the rain. Later that evening, I decided to turn it into a digital illustration, and voilà—this is the final result!
Overall, I'm really pleased with how it turned out! It's inspired me to explore more with hand lettering and experiment with my style. I'm also having fun trying out colored outlines for my characters. I'm so glad I took the leap and joined the 75 Art Challenge with Genna Blackburn!
Day 2 (January 23, 2025): Watch
Here’s my drawing for Day 2 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! I began with a simple watch design but felt inspired to add some lettering. The result? A motivational illustration featuring the phrase: “Watch how your dreams grow when you nourish them daily.”
Day 3 (January 24, 2025): Bathtub
Here’s my drawing for Day 3 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! Inspired by an old design of mine with Ms. Hamletta in a clawfoot tub, I drew this of Nina in a tub “soaking in the moment.” Both motivational and whimsical, I love how this turned out! Might have to be made into a sticker. :)
Day 4 (January 25, 2025): Sunglasses

Day 5 (January 26, 2025): Hairbrush
Here’s my drawing for Day 5 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! I interpreted hairbrush a little differently and came up with a paintbrush crown! Annie is embracing the artist inside her!
Day 6 (January 27, 2025): Light Bulb
Here’s my drawing for Day 6 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! The prompt was light bulb and I decided to turn a light bulb into a little terrarium with Kimberly and Poovey swinging inside.
Day 7 (January 28, 2025): Spoon
Here’s my drawing for Day 7 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! The prompt was "spoon," so I put a fun twist on it—Annie is taking a daring dive right off the spoon!
Day 8 (January 29, 2025): Backpack
Here’s my drawing for Day 8 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! I drew my trusty backpack that has been with me almost every day for the past eight years. It’s a bit worn and well-loved, but it has traveled on so many adventures with me. This drawing is my little tribute to it!
Day 9 (January 30, 2025): Pencil

Day 18 (February 8, 2025): Yo-Yo
Here’s my drawing for Day 18 of Genna Blackburn’s 75 Art Daily Drawing Challenge! Here is little Annie embracing her inner child and playing with her yo-yo. I was absolutely obsessed with my very own neon green Duncan yo-yo in third grade. I remember bringing it to school every day and eagerly waiting til recess so I could show off my (in hindsight, quite dull) yo-yo skills.
